The Loess Plateau is a typical ecologically fragile area in China. As early as 1952, it was clear that soil and water conservation is an important measure to control the Yellow River, but there are still some weak links and deficiencies. Based on the research and analysis of the Yellow River Basin, this paper takes a typical site in Fugu County as an example, uses Globalmapper and ArcGIS for scientific analysis, and uses the RUSLE calculation method to obtain the current soil erosion degree results. Suggestions for the prevention and control of soil and water loss in the Yellow River Basin in the new period are put forward from the aspects of ecological protection, agricultural technology, policies and regulations.
