A Study on the Current Situation of Competence of Selected Students and Its Enhancement Strategies

Two years of practice and exercise at the grassroots level is a unique training mode of the selection policy, which is of great significance for the growth and development of individual selectors, the increase of grassroots strength, and whether the policy is true and effective. Through in-depth interviews with 17 selected candidates who practiced and exercised in Changning base, and coding and analyzing the textual information of the interviews by using qualitative analysis software NVivo12, this study found that the current selected candidates have stronger overall public service motivation, but there still exists a mismatch between the competence and the demand of the position, and from the four main bodies of the selected candidates individually, the organization department, the employing unit, and the university, we put forward the targeted Countermeasures and suggestions to improve the competency level of the selected candidates.
