Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to explore the impact mechanism of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao National Games on the development of the sports industry in Guangdong Province and its long-term impact. Through literature review, current situation analysis and policy assessment, the study finds that the Games have had a significant direct economic effect on the sports industry in Guangdong Province, promoting the construction and improvement of sports infrastructure, and driving the development of sports tourism and related industries. The optimization of the policy environment provides a solid foundation for the development of the sports industry, while the development of sports industry clusters and innovation and branding enhance the competitiveness of the industry. This paper puts forward policy recommendations to strengthen the utilization of post-game venues, cultivate sports event IPs, promote the development of industrial integration, optimize the policy environment, strengthen the cultivation and introduction of talents, promote industrial innovation as well as enhance regulation and services, in order to achieve the sustainable development of the sports industry in Guangdong Province and to contribute to the regional economic growth and social progress.
