Research on the Measurement and Convergence Characteristics of High-Quality Development of the Financial Industry in Anhui Province

Abstract

This paper studies the development status of the financial industry in Anhui Province by constructing a high-quality development index for the financial sector and examining its changing characteristics and convergence properties. Using the Entropy Weight TOPSIS method for data measurement and convergence model analysis, the study finds that the overall development of the financial industry in Anhui Province is on an upward trend, but there are significant disparities in development among regions. Only the financial development of Anhui Province as a whole supports the hypothesis of absolute β-convergence, while central Anhui supports the hypothesis of conditional β-convergence. Analyzing the reasons for the regional differences in financial development in Anhui Province provides a theoretical basis for promoting the quality of financial development in the province and offers new ideas for narrowing the regional disparities in financial industry development.
