Abstract

Against the backdrop of the deepening global concept of sustainable development, ESG has become a key consideration for corporate development.Focusing on A-share listed food companies from 2013-2023, this paper employs empirical analyses to explore in depth the relationship between ESG performance and corporate operating performance, and dissects the mediating role of innovation ability and internal control ability in it.The results of the study show that good ESG ratings have a significant positive impact on corporate operating performance.In terms of the mechanism of action, good ESG performance can promote the improvement of operating performance by enhancing the innovation ability and internal control ability of enterprises.This paper provides ideas for food companies to assume social responsibility and improve corporate performance.
