This paper uses Alibaba Group as a case study to examine the impact of suspected financial fraud on capital market confidence and financing capacity. The research finds that although Alibaba has not experienced typical major financial fraud, there are controversies surrounding its data statistical calibers, timeliness of information disclosure, and transparency of consolidated statements. These issues directly affected investor confidence, caused severe stock price volatility, and to some extent increased market turbulence. Moreover, suspected financial fraud significantly increased the difficulty of both equity and debt financing for the company, and the international financing environment also deteriorated. As an industry leader, Alibaba's financial events also had a trust spillover effect, impacting the entire Chinese concept stock sector and China's capital market image. Through reviewing and analyzing these events, this paper identifies the transmission path of financial fraud as "information distortion - trust decline - financing obstruction.” It offers improvement recommendations for enterprises, investors, and regulators, aiming to contribute to the healthy development of capital markets.
