Against the backdrop of a new breakthrough in the comprehensive revitalization of Liaoning, the cultural and tourism industry has become an important driver for leveraging local cultural resources and boosting the regional economy. The environmental design major plays a key role in creating cultural and tourism spaces, transforming rural living environments, and innovating tourism scenarios. Integrating industry and education is a crucial path to connect the education chain, talent chain, industry chain, and innovation chain. This article focuses on the development of environmental design programs in local Liaoning universities, analyzing the practical value of integrating education with the cultural and tourism industry in driving Liaoning's revitalization. It examines current issues such as insufficient depth in school-enterprise cooperation, course systems that don’t fully match industry needs, the need to strengthen the dual-qualified teaching team, and challenges in putting practical projects into action. The paper proposes practical approaches in areas like talent training model reconstruction, course system optimization, building school-industry collaboration platforms, faculty development, and delivering technical and social services, aiming to align environmental design talent supply with the real demands of Liaoning’s cultural and tourism industry, and provide application-oriented talent support for building a high-quality cultural, sports, and tourism integration demonstration area.
