Study on the Current Status of Higher Vocational Education in Boosting Local Economic Development

Abstract

Higher vocation can promote the healthy growth of local economy by fostering highly skilled talents, optimizing industrial structure, and driving innovation and entrepreneurship. However, it currently faces a variety of problems such as lagged development, disconnection between professional settings and local needs, social cognitive bias, and insufficient teaching staff. To solve these problems, some measures are proposed in this paper, including strengthening policy support and financial investment, deepening school-enterprise cooperation, optimizing professional settings and curriculum reform, and improving the teaching staff and teaching quality. In the future, higher vocational education will achieve deeper integration with local economy, providing strong support for the innovation-driven and high-quality development of regional economy.
