The production and life of human society are entering the era of big data in all aspects. The talent training model needs to be reformed and innovated. π-type talents have become the inevitable choice for higher education to respond to social needs. Under the background of big data, the traditional talent training model has problems such as insufficient training of compound talents with multidisciplinary knowledge, multiple abilities, and multiple qualities. Talent training needs to establish the concept of π-type talent training, enhance the practice of π-type talent training, and build a π-type talent training system to promote the talent training model to adapt to the needs of social development.
