Abstract

This paper explores the application of the principles of Generalized Darwinism to explain the evolution of social and economic systems. Starting from fundamental concepts such as Lamarckism and Darwinism, the paper examines how these theories interpret complex social and economic phenomena. It highlights the subtle interplay between institutions, culture, and the evolutionary dynamics at both individual and collective levels, which play a crucial role in the evolutionary process. Generalized Darwinism offers a comprehensive perspective for observing social progress and economic transformation. However, its application to the evolution of social and economic systems also presents certain limitations.
