Visualization-Based Analysis of Latin American Studies in China: A Comparative Perspective over the Past 30 Years

Abstract

In the past 30 years, the domestic research on Latin America mainly focuses on three aspects: the first is the politics and international relations in Latin America, the second is the economy and trade in Latin America and the economic and trade relations between China and Latin America, and the third is the culture and society in Latin America. Due to the impact of economic development and transformation, inter-regional links and cooperation, the research topics in different periods are also different. This paper adopts the bibliometrics research method and CiteSpace software to carry out visual analysis and comparative research on the hot spots and frontiers in the domestic Latin American studies in recent 10, 20 and 30 years, respectively, in order to reveal the research priorities, frontiers and development trends in different periods, aiming to provide a more comprehensive observation for the regional studies of Latin America. This paper can help scholars better grasp the research trend of Latin America region, and provide reference for future research direction.
