This study addresses the issue of undervaluing local culture in curriculum design and examines the imperative of integrating local culture into the development of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) curricula. The analysis is conducted from various perspectives, including cultural views, World English, English as an international language, the principles of CLT practice, and the theory of postmodernism. The study provides suggestions and implications for educators and curriculum developers, aiming to enhance the understanding and application of local cultural integration within CLT practices.
