Research on Pragmatic Realization of Human and Machine Translation of the Expressive Marked Publicity Discourse

This study focuses on the translation of expressive marked discourse in Chinese publicity materials as the object of research and examines the comparison of the pragmatic realization effects of human and machine translation, as well as the influence of markedness theory, cooperative principle, relevancy theory, and politeness principle on the pragmatic translation. The results show that human translations have higher pragmatic value and that the effects of the markedness theory and cooperation principle are higher than those of the relevance theory and politeness principle. Therefore, when translating marked statements, translators should pay attention to the achievement of discourse markers and the application of the relevant linguistic principles to maximize the pragmatic equivalence of translation.
