Abstract

‘Chuntai’ and ‘Jishun’ are creative neologisms coined by Ge Fei based on preceding texts. The novel positions ‘Chuntai’ as the core narrative field of worldly phenomena of all beings and ‘Jishun’ as the spiritual narrative locus where characters break free from worldly constraints and realize the authentic essence of existence; together, they constitute a dual narrative chain of reality and illusion, entrapment and liberation. This article first clarifies the textual connotations and progressive narrative relationship of the two central images ‘Chuntai’ and ‘Jishun,’ then emphasizes how Ge Fei, through tailored narration, constructs a narrative chain transitioning from the secular ‘Chuntai’ to the spiritual ‘Jishun,’ elucidating the inherent adaptive logic by which narrative creation serves spiritual writing. Finally, aligned with Ge Fei’s individual creative context, it summarizes the literary value of this narrative creation and distills its practical implications for creative writing in contemporary novels. This article attempts to overcome the limitations of existing research that separate form and theme, restoring Ge Fei’s original creative intent to bear reflection on the era through narrative creation.
