With the acceleration of globalization, the connections between China and the world are becoming increasingly close. It becomes increasingly important to tell China's story well, and the government work report plays a crucial role in shaping China's international image. This paper analyzes examples of translating Chinese-specific terms from the 2022 government work report into English, discussing the application of translation strategies such as literal translation, free translation, addition, and omission in the actual translation process. It also explores how to retain the semantic information and cultural connotations of the original text to the greatest extent possible. The aim is to provide some reference and guidance for future translation work on relevant government documents.
