Abstract

Legal translation is a compound discipline, which involves knowledge of different subject areas. From the perspective of the functional equivalence theory proposed by Nida, this paper will explore the equivalence of legal texts from the four levels of vocabulary, syntax, text and style respectively, aiming at summarizing the main strategies for translating legal English texts, so as to provide translation ideas in legal translation practice.
