Abstract

As a typical urban village, G Village is at the forefront of urbanization, exemplifying the transformation and endogenous development of modern village communities. The study finds that despite challenges such as land reduction and population mobility brought by urbanization, G Village retains its unique community structure and cultural atmosphere through collective village construction and renovation. This is evident in the elderly residents' concepts of living arrangements, neighborly interactions, and shop operations. Utilizing participatory observation and in-depth interviews, this research depicts the transmission of life concepts and actions of elderly residents under the influence of urban mobility, examining their construction of daily life and emotional values in the present context. The study adds a micro-perspective to the sociological research theme of "human urbanization."
