On May 27,2024, China's Ministry of Finance released the "Basic Guidelines for Corporate Sustainability Disclosure" (Draft for Solicitation of Comments), mandating that companies disclose sustainability information encompassing the four core elements of the TCFD framework. This article explores how the TCFD framework guided the development of these draft guidelines, using case studies to examine 2023 ESG practices of listed companies, including Vanke Enterprise Co., Ltd.' s disclosure reports utilizing the TCFD framework. Through analyzing Vanke's climate change mitigation strategies from perspectives such as governance, strategy, risk management, and indicators & targets, this study aims to provide actionable insights for Chinese enterprises applying the TCFD framework in environmental and social risk management.
