Abstract

Under the background of curriculum ideology and politics in the foreign language teaching in colleges and universities, A Reading and Writing Course in the series of textbooks “Understanding Contemporary China” is a textbook for the cultivation of English reading and writing ability and curriculum ideology and politics launched by FLTRP. This paper discusses the rich ideological and political elements in the textbook and the application and practice of the textbook in the reading courses for English majors. Through this study, the author hopes to combine reading courses for English majors with ideological and political education in order to cultivate compound talents with ideological and political accomplishment and international vision.
