Songs, as a communication medium in the new era, win the love and recognition of the general public with its unique advantages. Song-writing, a major course in music offered in higher education institutions, is an important professional course in the theory of compositional techniques linked to practice, but there are some problems in the teaching of song-writing, such as insufficient integration of course ideology and politics, low sensitivity of teachers' creativity, lagging behind in teaching concepts and methods, students' lack of their own professionalism, and insufficient motivation for independent practice and creativity, etc. Under the background of curriculum ideology and politics, the teaching reform of song-writing is imperative. Based on the teaching objectives and teaching design of the Song-writing course, this paper analyses the innovative use of course ideology and politics in teaching and puts forward the feasible countermeasures for the integration and innovation of course ideology and politics.
