The independent learning ability of college students is essential to their academic success and future growth. This paper examines the current state of college students’ independent learning skills, identifies key challenges, and proposes strategies for enhancing these skills across four domains: school, teachers, students, and society. Survey data and chart analysis reveal that students face challenges in areas such as study planning, time management, learning interest, and sustained motivation. To address these, the paper suggests improvements in curriculum design, strengthened learning guidance, and enhanced access to diverse learning resources. These strategies aim to provide practical insights for fostering independent learning skills among college students.
