Exploring the Influences of English Learning Environment for Chinese Secondary School Students of English as the Second Language in Jinzhong, Shanxi Province, China

Creating a supportive English learning environment in schools is critical. Despite its importance, research focusing on the secondary school phase remains limited. This study explores the impact of English learning environment on Chinese secondary school students learning English as a second language in Jinzhong, Shanxi, China. A qualitative methodology was employed, utilizing interviews and observations as research instruments. Data were collected through recordings and note-taking and analyzed using a thematic approach. Ethical considerations, including participants’ rights, were prioritized throughout the research. The findings are presented from two perspectives: the current construction of English learning environments and their influence on students. This research provides valuable insights for students, teachers, and schools, offering practical guidance to enhance English learning environments and promote effective language education.
