Research on the Teaching Reform of the "Operating System and Security" Course Based on Problem - Oriented and Case - Based Teaching

With the rapid development of information technology, the cybersecurity situation in cyberspace is becoming increasingly complex. As the core software of computer systems, the security of operating systems is of crucial importance. The "Operating System and Security" course plays a key role in the talent training system for information security majors. It is a core course that enables students to master the principles, security mechanisms, and application capabilities of operating systems. However, traditional teaching models have many deficiencies in knowledge transfer, practical ability training, and innovation thinking stimulation, and it is difficult to meet the needs of the rapid development of the information security field. This paper takes the information security major of Xinjiang Institute of Science and Technology as the research object and deeply explores the teaching reform of the "Operating System and Security" course based on problem - oriented and case - based teaching. The aim is to improve students' learning interest, practical ability, and innovation thinking through innovative teaching methods and means, and to cultivate high - quality professionals for the information security field.
