The term "memory" has been invoked in many fields, and it has a unique form of expression and theoretical system. Memory is the reflection and accumulation of individual past experiences in the mind and the collective cognition formed and maintained through social interaction and cultural inheritance. With the concept of "collective memory" proposed by Habwach, the concepts of cultural memory, communicative memory, and the field of memory have also become essential branches of the memory theory system. In this paper, we will take the architecture of the Chaoshan Alcove as the core research object and use the relevant knowledge of memory theory as the framework of the article. By examining and exploring the visual symbols, structural forms and decorative details of the Chaoshan Alcove, and narrative and reproduction, we will illustrate how the Chaoshan architectural art and cultural memories can be preserved and reproduced through the visual narratives on the historical, social and personal levels.
