Abstract

In The Diary of Azuma Shiro, we can clearly see the process of a modern Japanese’s individual consciousness being squeezed under the Bushido of fierce nationalism and militarism, and the individual finally fall into corruption. Militarism Bushido provided a cultural and moral basis for the corruption of modern Japanese. In addition, Japanese national character, cultural pattern, and nationalism also provide a basis for the process of individual corruption.
