Research on the strategy of local governments to promote the development of higher vocational education -- Taking Shenzhen as an example

Abstract

Higher vocational education is an important part of China's higher education system, and it is its core educational task to cultivate high-quality skilled talents needed by the times and meet the needs of social and economic development for high-quality talents. As the major investor in higher vocational education, the government plays an irreplaceable leading role in the development of higher vocational education. However, due to the emergence of problems such as imperfect laws and policies, insufficient financial investment, and poor performance of government supervision functions, the government's contribution to supporting the development of higher vocational colleges is relatively limited. How to correct the above problems and enhance the role of the government in the development of higher vocational education is a key issue in the development of education in each local area at present.
